Numbers x.y.z

On most of the forums dealing with torts and turts, I have seen strange numbers in people's signatures. Wondering...what does it mean? Age? Number of animals?

Look at this example:
1.1 R.P. Manni
1.1.2 Chrysemys Picta Picta
0.0.1 Pseudemys Nelsoni
1.0 Pseudemys Peninsularis
3.1 T.C. Carolina
0.0.1 Malaclemmys Terrapin Terrapin
0.0.1 Geochelone Carbonaria
0.0.1 Chelydra serpentina

Neither Help nor FAQ pages helped me. Had to ask someone. I have chosen SusanC (http://www.turtleforum.com), who was so kind and replied me:

"...The numbers are a scientific way of letting other people know the gender of your turtles. The first number is male, the second is female, and the third is unsexed (for babies).

For example, if I had the numbers "1.0.0" next to red eared sliders it means I have one male RES.
If I had "1.2.5" it means I have one male, two females and five unsexed.

I hope that makes sense.

..."

Thanks a lot! So from now on I can proudly write 1.0.0 Testudo Horsfieldii
